This is my version of normal. It's loud, hectic, fun, & sometimes stressful. Dirty dishes are always having to be washed & the laundry piles up way to fast. Homeschooling 6 teaches me something new everyday & having 2 boys
with Down Syndrome taught me that the worlds got alot of learning to do too. I'm learning to view the mundane as true blessings~Dishes, laundry & all. We're adopting again, so for now part of my ♥'s in Eastern Europe. My Levi.

It's snowing Today...

Tbilisi..Levi's home (for now ;)

No, not here in Cali, but where our Nika Levi is it is. Just about every morning my oldest daughter likes to check the weather to see what's going on in Kiev (Isaac's old home) and what's going on in Tbilisi (Levi's home). Today..it's 34*  and will be snowing on and off though out the day :) I guess we should start looking into buying us some winter cloths, huh?  My good friend Teri (Hi sweetie!) lives in New York and she's been looking for us for things for the boys to be able to wear at garage sales and such. We're lucky to have her ♥. We've been keeping an eye out on the price of travel too and right now it's not nearly as bad as it was in the nice warm Summer (tickets were as high as $1,700.!) Thankfully there down to as low as $880. and going as high as $1,200. Still costly, but much better :)  Please pray with us for our decision on taking our boys and Ayla. Taking them adds up quickly. But in the long run we feel like it'd be best all around. Emotionally for the boys and easiest for those who care for our children while were gone. We'd just really love for Levi to be able to meet and start to bond with his brothers and big sis along with us so his adjustment won't be as hard when he comes home. We just think it'll be easier for him to come home to 3 unfamiliar faces verses 6. I remember Isaac being overwhelmed by all his brothers and sisters wanting to be in his face & play with him all the time when he first came home. He literally was like the new toy in the house, lol :D
Were I'm preparing for a different adjustment time with Levi since he'll be coming to us from a family that he's been with since he was 3. I've been really praying for him and for us that all our hearts are prepared and that God will just smooth this transition time in an amazingly peaceful way that only He can. I had a bit of a hard time adjusting to life with Isaac when he came home and it was so unexpected. So this time I'm putting my mind set in God's hands. It's been a blessing as He's graced me with removing all my apprehensions that I've been carrying for far to long over Levi's coming home. I've been praying for preparation of the worst, but looking forward to the best :D In the end..I totally already know it's all going to be okay and I'm so looking forward to having our son home..FINALLY! (Still no new news on that front though ;(
Okay, I gotta go..My girls are taking pictures of all the things we'll be listing on Craig's list and eBay today :)  ~love homeschooling and all the creative ways you can incorporate school :) Making this a part of Language Arts and Typing class today, lol~
Have a blessed day!

Hey, on the tickets... we just learned that one-way tickets are WAY more expensive than round trip. So plan on around double for his ticket! It was a real shock for us when we saw that, so I thought I'd warn you! :)

Hi .. So exciting.. You're almost there.. Yay!

I'm sure you'll do what's right for your family. There is no easy solution when there are so many little ones to think of.
I would highly recommend you ask for and accept any in country staff help available. When we traveled we had a nanny / cook (she did all the food shopping),translator and a driver. Make sure the agency is aware of the size of your traveling party. They will need to make arrangements for larger cars and possibly additional staff.
I can't imagine the amount of luggage you'll need for everyone. When we traveled we brought 9 pieces of luggage (6 were suitcases) and a stroller. My husband and I barely fit in the car at pick up. lol. Remember they don't have child car seats there. And the cars may not even have seat belts. This could be an issue with so many children traveling as well. You will really need to keep the kids secure even while walking on foot in Tbilisi. Although a wonderful friendly city the traffic is a heart stopper. You may need to bring child tethers which I don't think will go over too well there with the public. Also... remember you'll be there in Winter so you won't have much entertainment for the kids outdoors. Could make for a rather long trying time. Bring a portable DVD player or lap top and lots of kid movies.
Don't want to freak you out.. just want to give you a few things to think about before traveling so you can be better prepared.
I think you have my # if you'd like to chat. I'm here. ;o) I'm jealous .. I love Tbilisi.. Hey.. maybe you'll be there for Christmas? Although that might not be the best time to try and get things done. I'm sure they close for the holidays. Actually... come to think of it they celebrate Orthodox Christmas so that would be in Jan 2012. Anyway... I'm sure if you're there for the Christmas holiday season it will be beautiful. Such a spiritual little country.. you're going to love it there. Oh and bring a few head scarves for when you visit their churches. A must or else they will "lend" you one. I don't think you'll feel comfortable wearing a loaner. Sort of like sharing a comb.. not cool. ;o)

Hi there! I met you at Robin's house a few weeks back. I have little Taylor who is 2 if you remember. I saw your email come through regarding the Singing Time dvd's and remembered your name. I'm excited to see your blog. I'll be looking for some time here to sit down and read a bit of your story. Hope to visit with you again soon.. Erin Litteral
